Course DescriptionIn this course, we first provide an overview of the core technologies that support Web3 such as blockchain. Then, we present examples of token economy applications such as NFT and X to Earn. As lecturers for this course, we plan to invite founders of startup companies and experts from IT companies and financial institutions.

Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

This class is offered in both English and in Japanese. In this class, students form groups to promote a new token-economy product (business model and service), create its prototype and present it at the final presentation session. In preparation, there will be lectures on blockchains, Web3, DeFi (Decentralised Finance), DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and X to Eaern. Students will then learn how to use chat bots and create DAO as well as AI. By this time students should be ready to form groups and decide a new business model and product to work on. Each group will be assigned a mentor who is working in this field. All groups present their progress at least twice during the term. The final presentation session will be in the form of a competition where mentors vote for the best product. Students who fail to provide a working prototype will receive lower grades.

For students who are absent for the fourth time (or more often than that) for whatever reason, the highest possible grade is B regardless of their class participation, quality of their presenation and product etc.
