Course Description/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

Many world-class enterprises started as small ventures and have grown up to become big businesses. In this course students learn what a “venture company” is, how entrepreneurs start-up and why great companies were born and grown in Silicon Valley.
This course presents many practical case studies from the internet and PC industries. These show how today's internet world has been created by the "intense rivalry between ventures and large companies."
The course is designed for all university students regardless of the background to familiarize the basic concepts and elements of business management. Lectures, video materials and interactive sessions are prepared as a prologue to the real business world for students.
Through the course students can experience international and interdisciplinary study. Students also have opportunities to share lecturer’s experience as a corporate venture capital in Silicon Valley and to discuss about venture community in Asia, Japan, Europe and other regions of the world.
