Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

現在、言語学と文化人類学は二つの別個の学問領域として確立しており、文化人類学者にとって言語は、情報を得るための単なる道具であるかのように見える。しかし、文化や社会を学ぼうとする者は、ことば自体やその使われ方に注目することにより、実に多くのことを知ることが出来る。この授業では、「言語人類学」およびその周辺の学問分野の研究展開を振り返りながら、言語やコミュニケーションのどのような側面に着目すると、社会や文化について何が見えてくるのかを概観する。その際、単に理論を紹介するだけでなく、時に音声や動画クリップを含む具体的な事例を検討しながら、議論を進めていきたい。授業全体を通して、言語と社会、言語と文化の複雑で相互的な関係についての多くの気づきを得ることが、到達目標となる。
