Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome
教育とは何かという問いについて、私たちは、学校教育や日々の経験に照らして、少なからず述べることができます。
しかしながら、教育という事象を考察してみるならば、教育は、私たちが日常の、これまでの経験のなかで＜知っている＞以上に、多義的であり、かつ、いくつもの営みによって成り立っていることが分かります。
教育学は、私たちがすでに抱いている教育の見方や当たり前とみなしている教育の営みを、歴史的、文化的、社会的な文脈に位置づけることによって、教育を反省的に捉える学問です。
本授業では、教育という営みや事象を捉えるための基本的な概念や、近代学校の誕生について知るとともに、学校知について検討を加えます（前半）。また、特に、教育をリテラシーの問題と関連づけ、文字を読み、書けるようになるということが人間形成にとってどのような意味をもつものであったのかについて、映像資料も用いながら考察してゆきます（後半）。
