授業科目の内容・目的・方法・到達目標
Contents:
This course is for learning the basic concepts of behavioral economics, including terminology, theoretical models, empirical results, and applications.
Traditional economics assumes an agent called “Homo economicus,” who is exclusively selfish, perfectly rational, and always maximizes utility. In this course, the definition of behavioral economics is known as “the study of economics that does not rely on the assumption of the rational, selfish economic person”.
In behavioral economics, research uses survey data and experiments to test economic assumptions and study human behavior. To explain the human behaviors found in empirical results, behavioral economists combine economics with insights from other subjects, such as psychology, sociology, neuroscience, et cetera. Behavioral economists also propose new theoretical models to describe and interpret human behavior.
Objectives:
To get a good understanding of this course, students are encouraged to get involved in the experiments and games conducted during the class. This course aims to provide a general picture of the applications and limitations of behavioral and traditional economics.
Teaching Method:
Online real-time lecture via Zoom.
Begin a lesson with a short review of previous learning and the quiz.
Lectures along with experiments and games.
Please follow the instructions and complete the surveys before/during the class.
Please make sure that you can log in to K-LMS during class.
Intended Learning Outcome:
Understanding the basic terminology and concepts of behavioral economics
Applying behavioral economics to daily events and other subjects
