Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome
This course introduces the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Using the open-source GIS software QGIS, students will learn techniques for spatial data processing, analysis, and visualization.
The objectives of this course are: (1) to understand the basic concepts of GIS and its applications, and (2) to acquire skills in visualizing spatial data through map creation. The intended learning outcomes of this course are: (1) to master the basic operations of QGIS and gain the ability to create maps, and (2) to develop problem-solving skills using GIS.
In the first half of the course, students will learn and engage in exercises on QGIS operations. In the second half, they will apply the methods learned in class to conduct projects based on their own interests.
