Course Description	Learning perspectives for analyzing changes in specific cultures and media is also useful for analyzing a rapidly changing business. In this class, we will trace the history of film from its birth to the present day, and clarify the characteristics of the "old" media of film through comparison with various "new" media that have emerged one after another.

Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

この講義では、映画が誕生してから現代にいたるまでの歴史をたどりながら、それ以前から存在していた「古い」メディアやそれ以降に次々と誕生してくる「新しい」メディアと比較することを通じて、映画という「古くて新しい」メディアの特性を明らかにしてゆきます。また、映画に関連するメディア技術の発展にともなって、興行の形態にどのような変化が生じたのか、という観点にもつねに留意します。
秋学期の講義では、第二次世界大戦後に世界の各地で起こった「新しい波」を俎上に載せる予定ですが、かならずしも時代区分にはこだわらずに、いくつかのテーマを取り上げ、それがどのように扱われ、どのように変遷してきたか、という観点から映画史を概観します。
