Course Description/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

What is the purpose of your study at university?
Unlike in high school, where the emphasis was on accumulating knowledge in passive classes, in university, you are expected to think independently, act, and grasp learning on your own. To cultivate these abilities, it is essential to acquire knowledge and a wide range of cultures, in other words, a liberal arts education, which will enable you to develop advanced communication skills through dialogue. The ability to involve others and realize one's wishes through the high level of communication skills cultivated in this way is the "Basic Leadership Skills" that this course aims for.
In the course, lectures that incorporate cutting-edge leadership research and education from around the world and participatory classes that focus on "dialogue" among students are conducted. Specifically, the courses are divided into the following categories: logical thinking, coaching, dialogue, negotiation, and leadership theory, and are developed using both logic and practice, that is, lectures and active learning.
In addition, we plan to use the time after each week's lecture to provide opportunities to practice "practical learning," which is applying learning to the real world. We plan to conduct a series of workshops in which each group will explore the social issues presented to them and put together a proposal. (*Refer to the "Others" section below)
It has been proven that the diverse experiences gained through the course will strengthen students' communication skills, help them face themselves in their relationships with others, and lead them to keep thinking about the true purpose of university life.
