Course DescriptionThe course objectives are as follows: 1.To understand sailing fundamentals; 2.To acquire basic sailing skills and techniques through practice, and; 3.To study how to enjoy marine sports safely. The course is designed for students to sail a yacht as much as possible, and most students become well-trained in sailing safety.

Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

The course objectives are as follows:
- To understand sailing fundamentals
- To get basic sailing skills and techniques through practices
- To study how to enjoy marine sports safely

In addition, students can learn how Taiiku-kai sailing team is training for winning Keio-Waseda yacht race and all Japan inter-college yachting championship.

35,000 yen (travel expenses to/from Hayama are not included)

Breakdown of Cost

Accommodation, meals, drinks, text book, yachting gears, rescue boat fuels, repair charge in case a yacht gets damaged during the practice, and other

Sports Gears and Clothes, etc.

Enough change clothes are needed, since students will get wet at every practice. Practice with only swimming wears are not allowed due to safety. Wearing T-shirts or trainer over swimming wears is recommendable. In order to avoid direct sunlight, long sleeves and pants are preferable. Cap is also preferable. No sandals are allowed on board. Sneakers are recommendable. Wind breaker is good for raining and strong wind.
Swimming wears, Polo shirts/T-shirts, Wind breaker, Pants(Long/Short), Sneakers, Sun screening lotion, Water proof watch (optional)
Casual clothes, Pajama's, Under wears, Shoes, Towels, Tooth brush, Writing goods, prastic bags for wet clothes
All meals and drinks during the course are prepared.
Travel expenses and some money will be enough for the course.
