Course Summary
In competitive sports, various performance factors are tacitly understood. The purpose of this research group is to contribute to solving problems and improving performance by conducting surveys and research on various performance issues in competitive sports. Performance differs greatly depending on the characteristics of the sport. In this study group, we place importance on the issues actually faced in competitions, and will examine appropriate methods for each sport. This study group will be conducted jointly with the Hisashi Mizutori study group.
Course Description/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome
Focusing on the performance of competitive sports, we will design a survey methodology to identify the factors that are causing the issues. We will evaluate the results obtained through the survey and aim to return the findings to the field of practice.
We will focus on the factors (speed, muscle strength, movement skill, etc.) that contribute to performance in various competitive sports, and design appropriate research methods and conduct experiments to identify the factors.
We will conduct research focusing on factors that are considered important for performance in competitive sports, develop training plans to improve performance, and verify and evaluate the effectiveness of these plans.
For reference, we mainly use the following methods in our research.
2D video analysis (high-speed camera)
3D motion analysis (motion capture)
Qualitative evaluation method by visual observation
Electromyogram measurement
Force plates
Jump mats
Questionnaire
Semi-structured interview
