Have you ever wondered, "Why do people travel?", "Why do people choose the place as their destination?", "Why do people take such actions while traveling?"
Tourists' decisions and behaviors involve the "needs", "motivations" and also "personality" of tourists. Tourism leads not only working opportunities and money, but also interactions and encounters between people. The host and guest meet and notice differences and commonalities between each other, and then re-identify themselves. Since the purpose of social psychology is to explore the relationship between people, it is necessary to examine psychologically when considering tourism. This course deals with the mechanism and effects of modern tourism behavior while introducing the research findings in tourism field.
The goals of this course are to
(1) Obtain basic knowledge about the psychology and tourism studies.
(2) Apply theories or findings of the studies to real world situations.
