Course Summary

This seminar is aimed at those who are interested in the politics, economy, society, culture and history of Europe, in particular the German speaking areas, and wish to learn more about them, as well as those who wish to draw implications from the cases of Europe in order to seek solutions to various issues facing Japan today.

Course Description/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

This seminar is aimed at those who are interested in the politics, economy, society, culture and history of Europe, in particular the German speaking areas, and wish to learn more about them, as well as those who wish to draw implications from the cases of Europe in order to seek solutions to various issues facing Japan today. The aim of the seminar is to enable you to analyse various aspects of Europe and/or to draw implications through the reading of books and articles and through discussion in the seminar. You are free to choose your own research topic. It is desirable that you broaden your knowledge of the research topics of other participants through reading and discussion in the seminar.
