| 科目概要 | 研究会の履修を通じて「卒業プロジェクト」に向けて、教員と学生が共に考えながら、多様な課題に取り組んでいく。SFC では「問題が与えられ、正解を教わる」のではなく「何が問題かを考え、解決方法を創出する」ことができる、「未来の先導者」を育成、輩出することを目指している。それを実践するための「研究会」は単なるゼミのような勉強グループではなく、企業との共同研究や官公庁からの委託研究など、先端的な研究活動が数多く行われている。それらに参加して実社会の問題に取り組むことによって高度な専門性を身につけ、自らの「未来創造の成果」として、また、自らが未来へ前進するときの「自分自身のプロポーザル」として、卒業プロジェクトを作成する。 |

講義概要
In this seminar which will be held in English, we will deal with current or historic social, cultural, political and economic developments with a focus on German-speaking or other European countries, possibly in comparison with third countries. Students choose individual research topics after consultation with peers and teacher in class, regularly report about their progress and get feedback. All students are expected to do a final presentation in class and to write a seminar paper (in English or German). There is particular interest in (new) Nationalism and right-wing radicalism, but other topics in the fields of film, literature, society, politics etc. are possible. Please consult with teacher. Students’ research topics in former semesters included migration, gender, social movements or animal rights, for example. Students taking this seminar should be interested in exchange with others and in practicing their academic skills. The seminar will take place on campus.
授業科目の内容・目的・方法・到達目標
In this seminar held in English, we will deal with current social, cultural, political and economic developments in German-speaking and other European countries, possibly while drawing comparisons with third countries. Students are expected to come up with a research project, to regularly present their research and to write a seminar paper. Students will also practice their academic skills (researching information, choice of topics, academic writing, academic reading, presentations etc.). It is generally also possible to engage with a topic in a creative way (film, performance, artwork, composition etc).
