Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome
この授業では、科学哲学の個別のトピックとして、生物学および意識科学における哲学的問題を検討する。生命現象という複雑な対象を研究する生物学には、込み入った問題が数多くある。それを哲学的分析によって解きほぐすことは、生命現象の理解におおいに役立つ。逆に、哲学にとっても考えるべき問題の宝庫だといえる。また意識は、哲学と科学の両方にまたがる大問題であり、さまざまな角度から考察されてきた。そして生命や意識の問題は、動物倫理や生命倫理といった実際的問題とも結びつく。この授業では、以上の問題をともに考えることで、科学の知見を利用しながら哲学する素養を培う。
