Course Description/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome
The aim of this course is to examine how advertising industry has employed music to sell goods in the twentieth and the twenty-first centuries. Music has always played an important role in advertising, which continues to be an essential element of capitalism. Figuring out how advertisement has been fashioned not only to sell goods and services but also to inculcate listeners and viewers into their roles as consumers will be the focus of this course.
Participation in discussion is critical in this course. Students will be asked to do presentation assignments as well as to write a term paper.
