Course Contents/Objectives/Teaching Method/Intended Learning Outcome

雅楽は日本の伝統音楽のなかで最も永い歴史を誇る種目であり、仏教音楽の声明と同様に日本音楽の根幹をなしています。雅楽の歴史や音楽の仕組みを知ることは、多種多様な日本音楽を理解する上で基礎となるといえるでしょう。
本講義では、まず日本における「雅楽」とは何をさすか、語源や種目を把握するとともに、現行の雅楽伝承で中核をなしている渡来系の楽舞の基本事項（種目・楽器編成・演奏法など）を学びます。その上で、日本列島古来の歌舞や、5世紀から9世紀にかけて伝来した大陸の楽舞について歴史を遡り、雅楽が平安時代の宮廷社会で大成し、今日の様式に至るまでにどのような変遷があったのか、様々な角度から考察します。古楽譜に遺されたヴァリエーションに富む数々の伝承曲、復興/復曲によって新たな命を吹き込まれた楽曲、西洋音楽の受容によって展開した音楽表現の可能性など、千年の歴史を経て現代になお脈々と息づく雅楽の豊かな諸相を体感することが目標です。
